Cindy is a Lawyer, Arbitrator and Chartered Mediator. She has been working in conflict resolution for over 25 years.
Cindy’s practice includes a very broad range of dispute resolution, conflict management peace-building work, court-connected mediation, restoration of positive workplace environments, farm debt mediations and commercial arbitrations, regulatory matters, facilitation of public interest meetings and settlement conferences with multiple stakeholders, insurance mediations and arbitrations, family conflicts including separation and divorce, estates, criminal and restorative justice, community conflict, international and inter-cultural mediation, training and youth development.
She has trained hundreds of people in circle-keeping and other conflict resolution protocols. Cindy Dymond is a former Chair of the Ontario Police Arbitration Commission and former Executive Director of Community Legal Education Ontario. She has been a member of ADRIO since 1994, and has served on the Board of Directors. She is a certified International Mediator. She currently works exclusively in private mediation practice, with an emphasis on legal disputes, interpersonal relations, conflict management and peace-building, working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, both locally and internationally. Ms. Dymond also volunteers for Peace-builders International, both as a trainer and Lead Circle Keeper, for the Scarborough Conflict Resolution Service and for several community music organizations.
She is also exploring the connection between music and mediation, and how music can help to restore damaged relationships and heal suffering caused by war and conflict. She has a deep personal and professional commitment to bridging divides and building respect for all cultures and for finding the most effective tools to achieve harmony in every setting.
